Grades

Report cards came yesterday. After a year (or 10 months) of saying "let's clean out your notebook", "You need to clean out your notebook", "Did you do your homework", "Do you have any homework", "Don't you have any homework" - (one can get quite creative and ask the same question in so many different ways in order to be heard:-). . . Also 10 months of asking teachers about the grades, getting pretty much one teacher to consistantly respond about homework due and how S2 was doing etc the grades went up for the end of the year.

Should we have annoyed teachers? YES! This was a first for us because we've left him on his own before but we didn't have the luxory of letting him fumble around for 9th grade. Also, we knew that he was capable of doing better. The Geometry teacher was fabulous and even called last week to discuss S2 and study habits for next year. And this during his work week (school is over here). When I thanked him for calling he told me that he was just doing his job. Still makes me want to cry.
