Yesterday afternoon was a typical afternoon for our area. Hot, steamy and the usual thunderstorms popped up. The power flickered but . . . did not go out. It always goes out. The cable always goes out with it. Then I spend time on the phone trying to convince someone to send another someone to our area to fix either problem. During Hurricane Isabelle we were without power for 3 or 4 days. Not entirely I guess if you count the 24 hours that s2 was in the hospital getting his appendix out but thats a different story.

Anyway, yesterday the power, cable , internet and our lives stayed the same. The bad winds, tornado or whatever it was hit the city instead causing damage - trees over on houses, cars, powerlines etc. An eery feeling to be lucky and also a welcome one.
