A New Addition

Last month, before leaving on the big vacation, there was a picture of a kitten needing adoption in the local paper. He was tiny, had the kind of facial expression that we were after and also had the appearance of a creamsicle. As the pound was closed that day (Tuesday) I took off from a conference the next morning and was at the pound by 10 when they opened. Went straight for the cage where there was a sign saying that the kitten had already been adopted. I was a little depressed as was S2. I have since been back several times,(to the annoyance of the staff I'm sure), holding kitties, comparing kitties, letting them play and run around. It got to the point that I was telling newcomers about certain kittens personalities. They would look at me strangely when I answered no to the question "Do you work here?"

Fast forward to this past Friday. I had just bought a ton of groceries and thought that I would stop by the pound for a peek. Imagine my surprise to find "The Creamsicle" back in a cage. The previous owners did not want him (no real reason given).
I grabbed his paperwork and stood in line for what seemed like forever but he is now ours.

No name yet but doing much better this morning. Friday night he had his tail between his legs a lot which was a first for me in having a cat or kitten. Today he is much easier to hold. Our Big Boy tolerates him. The Princess hates him. The one dog loves him but that love is not yet reciprocated. It will all take awhile. He sleeps with the S1 and S2 and is absolutely beautiful.
