Goodbye to a Magnificent Tree

After years of enjoyment it was time today to say goodbye to a magnificent tree. Willows are messy, full of bugs, dropping their leaves ALL of the time and just creating a ton of work. They don't last forever and large branches were coming down on windy days. However, this one had a rope swing on it for years for enjoyment of children and adults. It attracted a group of migrating cedar waxwings each springs with it's massive supply of insects and it provided some dappled shade that was cool for dinner on a summer's evening. It will be missed. Posted by Picasa
