Friday's Show and Tell

Today is Show and Tell over at Kelli's
. Take a peek.

My show and tell is the bowl and pitcher that came from my dad's mother. It was a gift to her from a friend and is well over 100 years old. When I was a child I went through a fascination period with bowl and pitcher sets. I still find them quite elegant and interesting.

The picture on the wall above the bowl and pitcher set is a gift to my husband from his brother. The table was bought at a used furniture shop. The floor cloth is one that I painted years ago and has held up nicely.

You've show us 4 lovely items here. I love these pitchers and basins. I have never owned one but I have admired them for years. I'm so glad you pointed out the floor painting. I had to enlarge the picture. I thought it was a rug. How neat!!

Thanks for showing us this beautiful area of your home. I love the pitcher and bowl. My Mom's family had many of those. I used to be fascinated by them.

What a sweet vignette. I used to have a thing for bowl and pitcher sets, too, but I only had one. It's so neat that yours was passed down through the family. It's lovely. That's a really nice picture above it, too, and the floor cloth looks great.

I just love the way you painted the floor. That looks really good. Your pitcher is beautiful too. I had one my grandmother gave me but was broken long ago. Must have been due to all the boys in the house :)

Wonderful treasures! I found a vintage pitcher last year and have it displayed in my foyer--it reminds me of my grandparents when I look at it.

Your photo of yours is lovely!

A picture of tranquillity. I am a big fan of drop leaf tables.
