Raisin Bread---- makes two large loaves
Sift together & set aside:
4 cups flour
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
Bring to a boil & cook for 5 minutes then cool:
2 cups seedless raisins
2 cups water
Cream together:
3/4 cups shortening
2 cups sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
Gradually add cooled raisins and water to creamed mixture. Beat well. Gradually add dry ingredients mixing well after each addition. Pour mixture into 2 well greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done.

Yummy for the Bread Recipe...thanks for sharing. I love the pic you caught of kitty in a yawn...makes her look fierce!
Love the beast! Do you get to read those Christmas books at school? This year I am "off track." But, last Christmas I wrapped all my Christmas and Hanukkah books and each day I picked a student to open the "gift of reading." It was so much fun!
