One of my goals for 2009 is to become a better and more complete crafter. The top photo is my first softie. The pattern comes from Pretty Little Pincushions. But I would only have it used as a toy.
The second is my attempt at a winter collage. It's fine for my house but I wish that I had done more to it before putting on snow glitter. Like highlighted the snow flakes that I cut with a light blue or gray - you can't see that they are part of the outside background of the picture.

A fish softie has endless practical applications too. I'm thinking of the book Swimmy or even Rainbow Fish. I love the picture in the collage. So peaceful. I would like to try collage. I used to make them all the time in HS. (Of course they were filled with Esprit ads and Brat Pack celebs.)One thing I did to increase my crafty confidence was to create "Made in ____" set on Flickr. When you look back on all the things you make in a year you can really see progress. It's fun and satisfying.
Both of your new endeavors are fantastic! I especially love the collage, the picture has so much depth and peacefulness about it. Great job at following through on your resoloutions!
