I took

Wednesday off from work and after puppy playing I decided to go get some new summer clothes. This meant crossing the big mountain to the next town. I love shopping there. No crowds and very little traffic.
On my way over the heavens opened up and there was SLEET!! (even though it was in the 50's at home).
On the way back home the precipitation had stopped and a beautiful view had opened up.

My Creative Space
While husband was gone for almost 2 weeks to London I was by myself. It was quite interesting. I ate when I was hungry. Fed the pets when they were and cleaned a lot.
I know - you are still staring at the photo and saying Clean? Organized? Well, yes. The fabrics have become a little haphazard but I am quite pleased. I now have all of my small children's books in one area. My violin/piano music has been whittled down to a manageable amount. My fabrics are mostly in one area - I still have a small storage box filled with items. My yarns are under my work surface that is on the other side of the room.
With the installation of new windows in this room I can see the doves making a nest in the fir trees. The cardinals are also making a nest. (Told husband it is like running an apartment building - but without the complaints!) I can let Sport in the room by opening a window when he wants to come in - being able to open a window is such a luxury.

Words without Photos
I will not have my camera back until Thursday so I cannot take photos of the following:
--the new windows in my back room. When we moved in the top half of the windows had broken seals and were so foggy that we couldn't see out of them. AND we could not open most of them either.
Today is the two week anniversary of the installment and we are finally allowed to open the windows. It is wonderful. I have moved my craft things into this room and now I can watch the doves build a nest in the fir trees next to the window. I can see the sky and hear the birds. The cats are thoroughly enjoying being able to go in and out, especially Heinz who only likes to venture a little way from home and who needs to take his time when going out to make sure that the world is safe.
Sport is unhappy as now his brother can share his domain.
--the flowers that I bought at the nursery on Saturday. Big hyacinths for only 11.99. (So I got 2).
--the special dessert that I bought from a Serbian woman at the city market. It tastes similar to a chocolate eclair cake but not as sweet. Had bits of orange in it. Think that I may be going back for that.

I am still here. Cleaning. Cleaning. Cleaning.
It's my week off for spring break. And I am taking each room apart as best I can. Throwing out boxes of stuff.
Tomorrow S1 and various classmates will be awarded their scholarships for their field for next year. It is a wonderful luncheon - they serve the best coffee. The talk after is always given by someone who has graduated in the field and has found employment after graduation. It's over my head but I still enjoy it.
Sunday is lunch with S2.
Happy Easter to all (and if you like chocolate I hope that the Easter Bunny is generous).

Book Festival
Every year our city hosts a book festival. Some years I'm excited about the speakers and some years not. This is a not year. However I did score at the used book sale. Lots of violin music, some language books (never know when I might go to Russia :-) and some CD's. The sale is on until the 19th so I'm may have to go again. Actually I tell my husband that if I am meant to buy books, there will be a parking spot open for me at the venue sight. (Parking is limited). The poor man just shakes his head!
Yes, there was a spot open for me today.
