I is our Letter of the Week this week. We talked about the letter, what sound it makes and words that start with the letter I.
I showed the children pictures of ice cream, ice cube and an iron. Only one child knew what an iron was. No one else had seen one before.

Oh, I can believe it...I teach my students in Independent Living how to iron a shirt...you know, one with buttons and a collar. Some question why they would ever need to know this...
Hmmm...job interview, wedding, funeral, work, anniversary, a date??
Do they know the Purple Cow poem??!
Someone asked me that the other day. I don't think so. I haven't asked though.
How funny Jodi!
Hmmm. I iron for crafts, otherwise that "tool" would be known as Downy Wrinkle Releaser" and hanging it in the shower. LOL
I found your blog via out of the crayon box, and when I first read this I was trying to figure out what lowercase "L" had to do with "i". Ha ha. Anyway, I think the only reason my 3 1/2 year old knows what an iron is is because we have a pretend one. I only iron when the kids are asleep-babies pulling on the cord and all that fun stuff.
