expressive and his smile is a killer. He is 3 1/2 and likes to play peek a boo and play with cars. He watches how the wheels move and lines them up in a row. Music is a joy and when we say the blessing he smiles his radiant smile at me. He sits in the same chair for snack each day and likes to watch himself in the mirror for long stretches at a time. Sometimes he is so sweet that you may want to reach over and give him a hug, which he does not appreciate. Love is at a distance.
He is autistic. It's a hard diagnosis on everyone but it is also a good diagnosis. Because now we can unlock a mind that is bright and we can give a 3 1/2 year old a chance at the great life he deserves.

My best friend's son is on the autism spectrum. I hope your county has the resources to get him into the extensive therapy he needs right now. Timing seems to be key. People say that the MMR vaccination may cause autism due to traces of mercury. I think it has more to do with the statistic that one in six women have dangerously high mercury levels in their bodies (wombs). Where's the EPA on this one.
This is the 4th child I've had in two years with an autism diagnosis. One has never had shots which leads me to agree with you. Our county is fantastic with it's special services once they are diagnosed. It's more of getting everyone to face facts - which is no small accomplishment.
