Roads turn to slush and ice here easily. It's hard to explain to people in the big city down the road why schools should be closed on days like this as their main streets are clear. It's also hard to tell people from the North to just stay home. "We're used to it," they say. Many secondary roads do not get treated. We wait for Mother Nature to come and melt it all away. Makes for bad driving conditions.
