Looking for Babe

Our house is surrounded by pine trees that average about 3 stories tall. In a gentle wind they almost whisper and it is a comforting sound. However during ice and wind storms there is no gentle whisper and few hours of a good nights rest. The root systems of pine trees are shallow and they are known to snap or fall.

Our front yard pine tree has been leaning for months. The men in my life have disagreed with me saying that they didn't think that it looked any different. During the last ice storm it finally fell over. Husband has been cutting down branches this morning while Snoopy and I drag branches to an area behind our meadow. Some of the branches are huge. Where is Babe, the blue ox, when you need her?

I love to listen to the wind sighing in the branches of fir trees, sounds like the sea!
Have been reading your previous letters and have got to say how sorry I am you lost your lovely dog Maxine, I lost my collie last year, she too was the best of dogs, a sweetheart...

Thank you so much for stopping by and am sorry about your dog. It's so hard to say goodbye to them.
