is what I've decided is the next phase of my life. An odd choice one might say as my children will have left the nest. Why now, why not when they were younger.
I couldn't do it when they were younger. Though I made sure that I did things for myself, I was constantly on alert to see what others needed - which of itself is not a relaxing way to live. But I did not want to let my guard down - did not want anything to come back to bite me if you will (and add to guilt level).
But now it is time to take care of me more - the obvious like losing some weight and lowering the cholesterol and maybe the not so obvious like making sure that the clothes closet looks more professional and up to date. It means changing some old habits and making new ones. Sounds fun from the outside but I don't know how easy it will be.

What a positive approach to this new stage! Here's to balance!
It probably depends on where your kids are, and how often you see them, but honestly these years since mine have been out of high school have been very full. I think they need more conversations, time, love, support, etc. than ever. They are trying to figure out their next stages, and how to incorporate the past with the present and the future. My, don't I sound deep?!
your boys are beautiful. and, yes, here's to balance. it's hard at any time to find it, I think....
Can I do that too?
