When I first started teaching it was a popular opinion among many people that one did not do art projects with children under 2 and minimal things with the two - three year old set. Things had to change as the boredom that I suffered was interminable. Am sure that the children would have agreed. Now we do LOTS of art. (and cooking and other things.) Though this bulletin board is not fancy it shows the umbrellas that the just turned 2 set made and the flowers that the 2 1/2 to 3 set made. Art is important for so many reasons. Even a young toddler takes pride in things that they have made. Projects don't have to be fancy and children do clean up well.
